All On 4 Vs All On 6 Dental Implants

If your multiple teeth are missing, your dentist may recommend choosing between All on 4 dental implants or All on 6 dental implants as the best replacement option based on your oral health.

In this article, we will review key differences between All on 4 dental implants or All on 6 dental implants to help you choose the best option for you.

Understanding the terminology:

The term “All On” means that your dentures (artificial teeth) will be placed on these numbers of implants.

All on 4 dental implant means All Teeth on Four Implants
All on 6 dental implant means All Teeth on Six Implants

Similarities between All on 4 vs All on 6 dental implants:

Both involve:

  • Surgically placing dental implants in your jaws.
  • Instead of needing a single implant for each missing tooth, all on 4 or 6 allow you to have 4 or 6 implants to replace the number of missing teeth.
  • Teeth are extracted and dental implants are placed the same day.
  • New teeth are placed after dental implants healing is complete. During this healing process, temporary dentures are placed.

Differences between All on 4 and All on 6 dental implants:

  • The main difference between All on 4 and All on 6 dental implants is the number of implants

All on 4 involves four implants and all on 6 involves six implants.

  • All on 6 offers more strength to your jawbone.

All on 4 vs. all on 6 dental implants: Which one is right for me?

There are several factors besides the number of remaining teeth that determine which implant option is right for you, including the density, strength, and amount of jaw bone.
