Most of us already heard a lot about Invisalign or clear aligners from our friends and colleagues. Invisalign is simply the best alternative to traditional wire and bracket metal braces to straighten your teeth. Many of us are curious to know more about Invisalign before we consider them fit for our dental needs. In this article, we’ll explain in simple words step by step procedure for Invisalign. So, you should know at least the basics before you visit us at Royal Dental in Houston USA or any other certified Invisalign provider. Let’s get started;
At your very first appointment with our certified Invisalign expert, our highly qualified and experienced orthodontist will discuss the best treatment with you. After your thorough examination and evaluation, you’ll be either a or not the best candidate for Invisalign treatment; this appointment also brings an opportunity for you to discuss all your questions and concerns related to Invisalign with our brace’s expert.
After all the discussions, if you agree to Invisalign treatment. The next step is to record impressions of your teeth. At Royal Dental, we use highly advanced techniques for this step, so our patients feel relaxed during their appointment. The Digital model is created from the impressions and sent to the Invisalign lab for planning. Planning is done on the models using 3d software.
After designing the plan in Software, the proposed plan is sent back to Orthodontist by Lab for modifications or approval. The software demonstrates how your teeth will move with the proposed plan and what will be the result.
If the orthodontist approves the plan, the next step is the printing of Invisalign custom aligner trays which are designed to fit your teeth. These aligner trays help to straighten your teeth.
Generally, Invisalign aligners are instructed to wear almost 22 hours a day and a set of aligners is usually changed after every 2 weeks.
You are advised to regularly visit your orthodontist for follow-up appointments, during which your orthodontist will see, and confirm that treatment is progressing smoothly as planned. If any tooth or set of teeth are not moving as the desired orthodontist can place certainly visible attachments on teeth that help to move all teeth at the same pace if this also fails a new set of aligners can also be ordered to achieve desired results.
After your Invisalign treatment is completed, you will be given a new set of invisible retainers to maintain the results.
During and after the retention phase, you are advised to periodically visit your orthodontist to optimize oral and dental health.
